The association Roma Chiama Berlino wants to build bridges between Italians and Germans in Berlin and Rome. “Il Ponte” (the bridge) was therefore the title of the Artistgroup RCB exhibition in Rome on November 28-30, 2014. Again, three of my pictures were exposed there. After the first exhibition in Berlin (09/13 – 03/14), the Rome exhibition took place at Studio 104, sponsored by Studi Professionali Associati via Bradano 3/c and curated by the Brigitta Ciampi-Karner, a German artist living in Rome. More than 200 visitors came to the opening on November 28th.
“This follow-up exhibition in Rome is the result of a process that has been initiated with enthusiasm last year, with the objective to connect both cities”, said Roland Pfeiffer, president of the association, in his opening remarks. “And which subject could have been a better choice for a title than ‘the bridge’? In the year of the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall we felt the need to emphasize that it becomes more and more important to build bridges, big ones and small ones, individually and together, to tear down the walls of suspicion and fear.” Individual statements of the participating artists, as well as the full speach in German and Italian, can be found at the Rome Chiama Berlino website.
